Absa Bank Kenya has introduced the country’s first-ever metallic Infinite card in collaboration with Visa, designed for affluent clientele who value both luxury and convenience. The launch event took place at Nairobi National Park, setting the stage for a product aimed at redefining premium banking in Kenya.

The occasion saw the participation of Absa Bank Kenya’s top leadership, including Managing Director & CEO Abdi Mohamed, along with key executives like James Agin, Managing Principal of Corporate and Investment Banking; Moses Muthui, Director of Consumer Banking; Seema Dhanani-deSouza, Director of Affluent Consumer Business; and Chad Pollock, Visa’s Vice President and General Manager for East Africa.

During the launch, Abdi Mohamed reiterated the bank’s commitment to offering tailored solutions for various customer segments. “Today, more than ever, customers and businesses demand flexibility, efficiency, and personalization in how they transact. As a business, we understand that we cannot afford to have an approach of a one-fits-all. Through our partnership with Visa, the Absa Visa Infinite Card strengthens our affluent portfolio by providing exclusive spending power, enhanced protection, and superior rewards.”

Not only does the metallic Infinite card boast a sleek and luxurious design, but it also emphasizes sustainability. Unlike traditional plastic cards, which have a shorter lifespan and contribute to environmental issues, the metallic card is more durable, aligning with Absa’s long-term sustainability goal of achieving net zero by 2050.

Holders of the Infinite card gain access to a world of privileges, including entry to over 1,200 airport lounges and 900 luxury hotels globally. Additionally, cardholders enjoy 24-hour concierge services, offering personalized assistance wherever they go.

The introduction of the metallic Infinite card in Kenya comes shortly after Absa launched its Signature and Infinite cards in Ghana, highlighting the bank’s broader strategy to serve the needs of premier and affluent clients across Africa. Absa Bank Ghana, which also recently launched the Prestige and Premium Platinum cards in August, now boasts a comprehensive range of four affluent banking cards.
