Kingdom Bank Opens 22nd Branch in Meru

Kingdom Bank, a subsidiary of the Co-operative Bank of Kenya, has opened its 22nd branch in Meru County, aiming to serve the region’s agricultural community and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs). This addition also comes as part of the bank’s ongoing expansion strategy for 2024, with Meru being the third new location opened this year.

The focus of the new Meru branch aligns with Kingdom Bank’s commitment to supporting the economic pillars of the region. According to Anthony Mburu, the bank’s Managing Director and CEO, the branch aims to provide tailored financial solutions to bolster the area’s dynamic agricultural sector and catalyze the growth of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

“We are very excited to open our doors in the great county of Meru, known for its productive agriculture and entrepreneurial spirit,” Mburu said. “We welcome all to engage with us as we work to better understand and serve your financial needs.”

The arrival of Kingdom Bank in Meru was met with enthusiasm by Godfrey Mburia, Director at the Cooperative Bank of Kenya. He acknowledged the new branch as a “significant boost” for the county’s vital agricultural sector and its SME base. Mburia expressed optimism for a strong partnership.

“We look forward to a strong partnership to drive sustained development and prosperity in the county,” Mburia said. “Together, we will create an environment for businesses to thrive and contribute to overall growth.”

The new Kingdom bank Meru branch is located at Ntima Building along Tom Mboya Street in the county’s main town.

As part of the Cooperative Bank Group, Kingdom Bank offers comprehensive digital banking services including mobile and internet platforms, payment solutions, and access to the extensive Co-op Bank ATM and agent network.

Kingdom Bank is dedicated to empowering SMEs across Kenya by offering them customized financial solutions. This expansion initiative highlights the bank’s commitment to bringing essential banking services closer to businesses, thereby enhancing accessibility and providing the necessary support to fuel their growth ambitions.
